Рабочая гипотеза относительно сознания

Поднимаясь по лестнице интеллектуальной сложности и пройдя ступень, которую мы несколько произвольно охарактеризовали как «автоматическое обучение», мы встречаемся лицом к лицу с труднейшей философской проблемой — с проблемой сознания. Этот предмет неудобоварим для механициста и приводит его в замешательство. Разумеется, проблема сознания стояла перед нами и в предшествующих главах, но там она еще не была острой; до сих пор в нашем обсуждении можно было оставлять сознание в тени. Ио сейчас нам предстоит непосредственно заняться некоторыми сторонами сознательных психических процессов,
